Candidates' Statements

Online voting will be available from 23 September

I have been your Chairman for two years now and Club Secretary for 4, therefore working on your behalf for the last 6 years.  I love rallying and travelling in our motorhome and appreciate the many friends I have made. Consequently, I am dedicated to ensuring the Club is strong and has a promising future.

I have overseen a number of changes with the Committee, introducing a secure Facebook page; a fantastic booking ‘app’; a new membership application and renewal process; updated membership data base, established a good financial bank balance; gained a regular influx of new members, improved advertising and most importantly set up a more robust support programme for new Rally Stewards.

I still have an action plan to develop other areas, but our main aim is to ensure we have interesting and enjoyable rallies in the UK and abroad.

If you are happy about the developments so far, please vote for me to continue as your Chairman.

Dear Members

I have now come to end of my term as Membership Secretary. I have decided to stand for a second term.

For those members who don’t know me, I joined the club in 2011. Christine and I have attended 185 rallies, and we have stewarded 34 rallies. I was previously on the Committee 2013 to 2018 as Rally co-ordinator. I have been Membership Secretary for the last 2 years. The club stopped using the Very Connect system at the beginning of 2024 and with the help of the Web Masters John & Sally Cleave we introduced an online joining page on the website that has been a great success encouraging 523 new members to join the club. The club have stopped using third parties for taking payments. A new online renewal page was introduced last October and was a great success. I hope to continue being asset to the club.

My name is Jan Lewis, I have been a member of ATOC since 2016 when we purchased our 3rd Auto-Trail, an Arapaho.

I am applying for re-election as an ATOC Director.

I live with my husband Gerry, our two dogs – Kaos and Smokey, in North Devon

After successful and rewarding Police careers we moved to North Devon and ran a successful business until 2012.  I then became a professional fundraiser for a mobility charity.  I followed this with a move to North Devon Theatres, taking up a post within the fundraising, marketing, and promotion department.  I retired five years ago.

In 2006 I joined Rotary International.  As a Rotarian, I have held the posts of Assistant District Governor, Club President, and Chair of Trustees. I have a ‘Paul Harris Fellowship’.  I am a former School Governor.

I joined the ATOC Board in 2022, have been involved in many changes and the introduction of social media to the Club.  More recently I have held the positions of Vice Chair, Data Protection Officer and Publicity Officer.

If re-elected my aim is to help ensure that the Club moves forward with the times and capitalises on the recent successes. Embraces change where appropriate and make sure that if you own an Auto-Trail, ATOC is the ‘go to’ Club.

I have now served on the Board for the last two years working across all departments of the organisation including updating the Club Rules and Articles of Association, helping with the rally programme and assisting the treasury develop realistic budgets. Should I be re-elected for a further 3 years it would almost certainly be my last spell on the Board as being the second oldest member it will be time for someone younger to take over.
