A Church of Scotland minister from Glasgow some years ago was invited to give a Christmas Day broadcast.  He knew his two aunts would be listening.  He also knew that the two had fallen out and had not spoken for nearly a year.  At the end of his talk on reconciliation and forgiveness, he suggested to his listeners that if anyone had become estranged from a loved one or friend they should now contact that person and make Christmas Day once again a day of peace and goodwill.  That evening, one of his aunts phoned him to tell him how much she had enjoyed his talk.  She then added "when it was over I went and sat by the phone but my sister didn't phone".

This story highlights the fact that both aunts had missed the point entirely.  True reconciliation means extending the hand of friendship and forgiveness to someone, whether relative or friend, who has hurt you in some way, even although you are the innocent party.  After all, this is what God has done in His relationship with the human race and nowhere is this more true than at Christmas when we remember once again that He gave His son Jesus that through Him mankind might be reconciled to God.  Through wilful sin mankind has alienated himself eternally from God  but, because God loves His creation He Himself has made a way back to Himself where there was no way. This is the very essence of the Christian story that "God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ not counting men's sins against them" (2Corinthians 5 verse 19).
So as the Christmas season comes round again and as you share it with family and friends please try to do two things, 1. If you are estranged from someone today, then extend the hand of reconciliation - Go on!!  Make the first move.     2.  Take advantage of Gods offer of forgiveness and be joined again in relationship to Him through Jesus - because - He DID make the first move.

Charity Donations

Our club along with the Auto-Trail Factory employees raise money at the annual factory rally. We both choose in alternate years which charities we wish to donate monies to.

The club is not in a postion to support or donate to members individual charities.  We are happy to advertise any event a member may be attempting to raise monies for their chosen charity.

To advertise your charity event, just email all the details to and your appeal for donations/sponsorship will be posted on this website.

Good luck to everyone raising money for needy causes!

The Annual Factory Rally (2015) raised £900 from members. The funds were divided equally to 3 worthy charities, Macmillan Cancer Support, CLIC Sargent and Yorkshire Air Amblulance. Their 'Thank you' letters are shown below.       Thank you to everybody who attended the rally for your donations (Tombola ticket sales).
