Rally Name           SOUTH WEST IRELAND TOUR

Location                 Our planned tour of South West Ireland starts with a ferry crossing from either Fishguard-Rosslare or Holyhead-Dublin and we’ll meet at Tramore near Waterford.

Start                       Thursday 1st June, noon

Finish                     Wednesday 21st June, noon

Information           The tour will head west to Cork, Blarney and Killarney to the Ring of Kerry on the West Coast, staying at five different locations over twenty days, returning via Tipperary to your ferry home.

Cork is the Irish Republic's second largest city after Dublin. It lies on Ireland's south coast and is connected to the sea by Cork Harbour and a slim channel called Passage West. There's a strong seafaring trading tradition here and all along the adjacent coastline. In effect, the original city is an island enclosed by two arms of the River Lee.

Ten kilometers’ northwest from Cork city is one of Ireland's most talked about attractions, Blarney Castle, home to the world famous Blarney Stone, which is said to instantly give those who kiss it the Irish 'gift of the gab’. The famous stone is found at the top of the tower. Beautiful gardens surround the castle, and there's a range of activities and events all year around.

A half hour's southerly drive from Cork, and at the gateway to scenic West Cork, is the quaint deep-sea fishing and yachting town of Kinsale. Once a medieval fishing port, historic Kinsale is one of the most scenic resorts on Ireland's southwest coast.

Blackrock Castle Observatory is set in an enviable location on the shores of the River Lee where it meets Cork Harbour.

A tour of the Jameson Experience in Midleton, Co. Cork, takes you on a journey through the making of Irish whiskey. Visitors are then guided through the old distillery, where they can admire the old kilns, mills, maltings, water wheel, still house, distiller’s cottage, cooperage and warehouses.

The Ring of Kerry coach tour passes through spectacular landscape awash with history and breath-taking views in the south west corner of Ireland, with the tallest mountain in Ireland on one side, the famous MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, at 1,038 metres, and the wild Atlantic coastline on the other.

A coach tour of the Dingle peninsular, a magical place with mountains, rugged coastline, sandy beaches, small towns of character, and a remarkable concentration of prehistoric monuments.
